RGIII Congratulates Dale Earnhardt Jr on Daytona 500 Win

The Washington Redskins and Robert Griffin III are touting Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s victory at the rain-delayed Daytona 500, known as Super Bowl of auto racing.

Earnhardt is a devoted fan of the franchise and fondly recalls watching the team beat the Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl XVII. Many years later he had the opportunity watch a game in the owner’s box with Dan Snyder and Joe Gibbs, which led to his writing an impassioned article for ESPN explaining why he loves the Redskins.

Griffin, whom calls Earnhardt a friend, says he has “much love” for the now two-time Daytona 500 champion.
