According to the Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Speedway owes the state nearly $300,000 for security provided by state troopers during the NASCAR races there in 2012 and 2013, the Louisville Courier-Journal is reporting.
According to records obtained by the paper, the Kentucky State Police has been sending emails and letters requesting payment since July.
According to The Courier-Journal, the Speedway owed $299,126.86 for security as of Dec. 27. Payment was requested in full by Jan. 15, the paper reported.
“I never heard back from that,” KSP Commissioner Rodney Brewer told the Courier-Journal. “And I have called the speedway twice in the last 10 days and can’t get anybody to return my call.
