MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Long Island, N.Y., native, Tommy Baldwin will team with fellow Long Island native and NASCAR.com Cameraman/Analyst Matthew Dillner, Feed the Children and Motor Racing Outreach (MRO) as they Race for Sandy this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. Utilizing donations through feedthechildren.org/raceforsandy, Feed the Children will send much needed food and supplies to the Long Island area hit by Hurricane Sandy. Tommy Baldwin Racing and the No. 36 Accell Construction Chevrolet will promote the effort in Sunday’s AdvoCare 500.
Superstorm Sandy created an estimated $50 billion dollars in damage in the United States and has been responsible for 110 deaths. Feed The Children has already designated 30 trucks of relief supplies to send into areas devastated by the storm. Working with a network of partner agencies and sponsors, these shipments have arrived and will continue to arrive in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, North Carolina and other affected states. Items being delivered include ready to eat meals, food boxes, cleaning supplies and other essentials.
