Danica Patrick to Drive for Turner Scott Motorsports at Daytona

It was announced today that Danica Patrick will pilot Turner Scott Motorsports’ fourth entry in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at Daytona International Speedway. Patrick, who will be a full-time Rookie of the Year candidate in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) in 2013, will be behind the wheel of the No. 34 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet Camaro in the season-opening DRIVE4COPD 300. Veteran crew chief Mike Greci will be calling the shots from atop the pit box.

The former IndyCar driver, who made her Nationwide Series debut at the 2.5-mile superspeedway in 2010, has five previous NNS starts in Daytona, with a best finish of 10th (July, 2011). Patrick has three top-five starts at the Daytona Beach, Fla. track, including one pole award, which she earned in the first race of the 2012 season.

Kyle Larson to Make Nationwide Series Debut at Daytona

Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (EGR) announces today that Kyle Larson, the 2012 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) Champion will look to run a full-time NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) schedule in 2013. Larson, the 20-year-old driver from Elk Grove, Calif. will attempt to make his series debut behind the wheel of the No. 32 Clorox Chevy Camaro fielded by Turner Scott Motorsports during Daytona Speedweeks in the DRIVE4COPD 300 NNS race on Feb. 23.

The EGR development driver turned heads in NASCAR competition in 2012 when he won the NKNPSE Championship in his first year of driving stock cars. Larson, who is of Japanese-American descent, also claimed the first series championship for one of NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity Program drivers.

Nelson Piquet Jr. to Run Full Time for Turner Scott Motorsports

Turner Scott Motorsports announced today that Nelson Piquet Jr., the first Brazilian to win in one of NASCAR’s top-three series, will run full time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) in 2013. The 27-year-old will pilot the No. 30 Chevrolet Camaro, marking his first full-time NNS season and making him the first Brazilian to compete full time at the Nationwide level. Piquet Jr. will continue his long-standing relationship with crew chief Chris Carrier, who will lead the No. 30 team from atop the pit box. Piquet Jr. will also extend his partnerships with Qualcomm, Autotrac and TAG Heuer Eyewear, while welcoming Worx and Delavaco Capital Inc. on board as new sponsors in 2013.

Piquet Jr. has competed in a total of four NNS events, earning a top-10 in his series debut at Watkins Glen International in 2010. The Brasilia, Brazil native earned his first NNS pole and win at Road America in 2012, only his third start in the series. The event also secured Piquet Jr. as the first Brazilian to win a Nationwide pole, as well as the first Brazilian to win in one of NASCAR’s top-three series.
