Danica Patrick becoming the first woman to capture the pole position for the Daytona 500 will obviously draw more viewer attention to an event that could use some extra hype. The 500 in 2012 was the fourth consecutive year that the race drew less than a 10 rating; the race had exceeded a 10 rating in seven of the eight previous years.
But Patrick's performance in qualifying Sunday gave Fox just a small ratings pop: That coverage drew a 2.0 overnight rating, translating to 2% of households in the 56 urban markets measured for overnights -- up 11% from last year. (USA Today)
